After the de-occupation of the regions of Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation is carrying out systematic and diligent work to document war crimes committed by russian troops, as well as identifying and detaining traitors who have defected to the enemy.

In Kharkiv region, after the liberation of the temporarily occupied territories by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, SBI employees detained 19 former law enforcement officers who betrayed their oath and helped the occupiers.

They were quickly exposed and detained due to the coordinated actions of the SBI officers.

Among the detainees is the head of the so-called occupation police of Balakliia. Until 2019, he was deputy chief of one of the police departments of Kharkiv region, then he retired in the rank of lieutenant colonel. After the temporary occupation of Kupiansk, the man voluntarily agreed to work in the so-called "people's police".

The SBI also detained employees of the Kupiansk State Tax Inspectorate, who from the first days of the occupation began to serve the invaders and collect taxes from the locals for them.

The traitor, who was appointed by the occupants as the "deputy minister of industry" of Kharkiv region, also was captured by the SBI.

Currently, all detainees are in custody, pre-trial restraints in the form of detention have been chosen for all of them.

In total, 94 proceedings against traitors and collaborators have been opened in Kharkiv region alone since the beginning of the war, 45 people have been notified of suspicion.

The SBI once again reminds that short-term benefits from cooperation with the enemy will turn into shameful and long imprisonment.
