Based on the SBI materials, two russian servicemen, who tortured residents of Chernihiv region, are sentenced for 10 and 12 years of imprisonment

The Novozavodsk District Court of Chernihiv reached a guilty verdict against two servicemen of the russian armed forces who beat and tortured residents of Chernihiv region.

The servicemen of the 80th tank regiment of the 90th guards tank division of the central military district of the russian army were sentenced to 12 and 10 years in prison.

The SBI investigation established that during the occupation of Chernihiv region in early March 2022, the invaders beat and abused a local resident and his family for several weeks. After finding out that the guy served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the russians chained him in his underwear to a pillar in the yard in the cold. Rashists were abusing his younger sister and grandmother in front of his eyes. The invaders tried to rape the 16-year-old girl, beat her on the head with a rifle butt, strangled her, intimidated and threatened her with group rape from other russian soldiers.

The attackers left the young man's yard only when the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to de-occupy Chernihiv region.

The suspects were have been already charged with violation of the laws and customs of war, cruel treatment of civilians, use of means of warfare prohibited by international law (Part 1 Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Currently, the russian soldiers are put on the wanted list. The invaders will serve their sentence from the moment of detention.

The procedural guidance was provided by the Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

It should be reminded that the State Bureau of Investigation completed one more the investigation and put on the wanted list two russian servicemen who abused residents of Chernihiv region.

Since the beginning of russian aggression, the SBI has been investigating more than a thousand proceedings against traitors and collaborators.
