According to the materials of the SBI, an official of The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection who "was trading " export veterinary certificates will be judged

The employees of the SBI have completed the pre-trial investigation against the official of The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, who organized money extortions from businessmen at the state border in the Odessa region.

The indictment was sent to the court.

In October 2023, the official offered to one of the businessmen, who was engaged in the export of beeswax, to "help" him to obtain the necessary veterinary export certificate every month. For this, the official wanted to receive a monthly "fee" in the amount of 33,000 UAH.

The employees of the SBI have documented several episodes of the transfer of the monthly payments. In January 2024, the suspect was detained by the law enforcement officers after handing over the money.

Currently, the official has been dismissed from his post and is accused of abuse of influence (Part 2 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the Article provides for imprisonment for up to 5 years.

The procedural guidance is provided by the Kirovograd Region Prosecutor`s Office.
