Spouses of law enforcement officers who switched to the enemy will be tried based on the SBI materials

The SBI employees have completed a special pre-trial investigation into two employees of a law enforcement agency in Donetsk region. They served as the so-called " assistants to the prosecutor of Volodarsky district of the general prosecutor's office of the dpr".

The indictments were sent to court.

According to the investigation, in March 2022, during the temporary occupation of the Nikolsky district of Donetsk region, the husband and wife supported the arrival of the aggressor regime.

In an interview with a propaganda TV channel, the husband publicly disparaged the law enforcement system of Ukraine to "strengthen" the occupation authorities. He also actively promoted the russian narrative that our country should not exist.

The spouse of the former law enforcement officers are accused of collaboration (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), the husband is also accused of high treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The suspects face up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.

Procedural supervision is provided by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
