Former fire chief, who fled after liberation of Lyman in pursuit of 'russian world', will be tried based on the SBI materials
SBI employees have completed a special pre-trial investigation into the former deputy head of a fire and rescue unit in Donetsk region, who defected to the enemy after the russian invasion.
The indictment has been sent to court.
After the occupation of the city of Lyman in Donetsk region, the former deputy chief of a fire and rescue unit chose to continue his career, but in the enemy's ranks. He also offered his former subordinates to join the occupiers.
For some time, the defendant headed the so-called "fire and rescue unit of Krasnyi Lyman. Krasnyi Lyman of the ministry of emergency services of the donetsk people's republic" until the representatives of the pseudo-republic appointed their "man" to this position.
After the liberation of Lyman, the suspect fled with the "russian world" to the temporarily occupied Donetsk. SBI agents found a note left by the defendant to a woman with a propaganda note about the impossibility of living with " bandera" and " nazis".
The former deputy head of a fire and rescue unit in Donetsk region is charged with high treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The article provides for life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office is providing procedural supervision.
