Based on the SBI materials, the former management of the Kherson pre-trial detention center, who " gifted" the facility to the occupiers, will be tried

Investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation have completed the investigation into high treason of the former head of the Kherson detention center and his deputy.

The indictment has been sent to court.

The head of the Kherson Pretrial Detention Center betrayed his oath of allegiance and willingly went over to the enemy. So did his deputy for operational work.

Together, they helped the enemy create an illegal structure, the Kherson Oblast Penitentiary Service, which became part of the russian penitentiary service. The traitors received new positions in the fake institution and followed all the instructions of the occupier. Furthermore, they provided the penitentiary, that they were responsibe for, for the needs of the occupier.

The former head of the detention center even became a "hero" of the propagandists' information campaign aimed at discrediting the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine. He encouraged people to disobey the orders of the Ukrainian authorities and follow his example - to cooperate with the enemy.

After the liberation of Kherson, the defentants tried to hide in the region, but were operatively exposed and detained by the State Bureau of Investigation. They are currently in custody.

The accused face life imprisonment with confiscation of all property for treason under martial law.

Procedural supervision is provided by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office. Operational support is provided by the Security Service of Ukraine in Kherson region.
