Former head of Chernihiv factory of radio devices will be tried for non-payment of almost UAH 9 million in taxes on the basis of SBI materials
The State Bureau of Investigation has completed a pre-trial investigation against the former head of the private joint-stock company "Chernihiv Factory of Radio Devices" on the fact of tax evasion in the amount of almost UAH 9 million.
It was established that the head of the enterprise which had a turnover of hundreds of millions of hryvnias had deliberately evaded paying land tax for the land plots used by the plant in recent years. This led to a shortfall in the local budget.
As a result of these financial losses, the city authorities were unable to pay salaries to medical and educational institutions and make social payments to privileged citizens.
A civil lawsuit has now been filed in the interests of the state to compensate for damages of almost UAH 8.5 million.
The former CEO is accused of intentional tax evasion (Article 212(3) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for a fine with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years with confiscation of property.
The Chernihiv Region Prosecutor's Office is in charge of the proceedings.
