Based on the SBI materials, nine law enforcement officers-traitors from Luhansk region will be put on trial
SBI employees have completed a special pre-trial investigation against nine former law enforcers from Luhansk region who started working in the fake bodies of the "luhansk people's republic" terrorist organization.
The indictments have been sent to court.
After the russian invasion of Ukraine, the defendants betrayed their oath and defected to the enemy.
One of them actively supported the occupiers and positioned herself as a "combatant in an international armed conflict". The woman later took up a position in the occupation prosecutor's office in the Stanychno-Luhansk district. She actively participated in events among the local population to create a "positive" image of the invaders.
Two more defendants were appointed to positions in another fake law enforcement agency, the "novopskov police". The former law enforcers agitated their acquaintances and those who were trained, before the full-scale invasion, by the police in Starobilsk district to join the "people's police".
In July 2022, three other former law enforcement officers swore allegiance to the "luhansk people's republic" terrorist organization.
One of them sided with the occupiers in 2014. For eight years he kept his cooperation with the aggressor well hidden from Ukrainian law enforcement agencies. In July 2022, the suspect publicly and voluntarily took a position in the illegal law enforcement agency "ministry of internal affairs of the people's republic of luhansk".
The six former law enforcement officers are charged with high treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Three more former law enforcement officers are accused of collaboration (Article 111-1(7) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to 15 years with confiscation of property.
The procedural control is carried out by the regional prosecutor's offices.
