According to SBI documents, four colony workers who were holding Kherson prisoners for disobeying the occupiers will face trial.
SBI employees have completed a pre-trial investigation into former employees of the Northern Correctional Colony No. 90 in Kherson.
The indictments have been sent to court.
Immediately after the beginning of the temporary occupation of Kherson, four employees of the colony voluntarily defected to the enemy and were given positions by the occupiers in the illegally created institution "Northern Correctional Colony 90 of the Department of the Penitentiary Service for Kherson Region".
They received salaries in rubles and helped the enemy in every possible way to organise the work of the penal institution. In particular, the defendants kept behind bars Kherson residents who were imprisoned by the occupiers for disobedience.
After the liberation of Kherson, these colony employees were identified and detained. They are currently in custody.
The defendants are charged with high treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The article provides for punishment in the form of life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Procedural supervision is provided by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
