01/09/2022

The SBI continues its systematic work to prosecute judges and prosecutors of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, who in 2014 defected to the enemy side. These crimes have no statute of limitations. All traitors will be held accountable.

The Bureau employees completed a special pre-trial investigation against 9 judges of the Court of Appeal and local courts, as well as the prosecutor of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, on the fact of high treason. The indictments were sent to court.

According to the investigation, after the temporary annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, they continued their work in the illegally created by the occupiers' prosecutor's offices and courts of the annexed Crimea. Currently, traitors ensure the functioning of illegal prosecutor's offices and the judicial authorities of the occupiers.

The defendants are charged with high treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for a punishment of imprisonment for up to 15 years with confiscation of property.

Procedural guidance in criminal proceedings is provided by the prosecutor's office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.

Overall, since the beginning of 2022, the SBI employees have completed a special pre-trial investigation against 30 judges and 2 prosecutors of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. All indictments have been sent to court.
