A traitor, who was detained by the SBI in the Donetsk region, will be judged for high treason

The employees of the SBI completed a pre-trial investigation against a former Ukrainian soldier, who voluntarily swore allegiance to the russians after capturing his unit in Simferopol in 2014.

The indictment was sent to the court.

After the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he went to fight against Ukraine as part of russian attack aircraft of 123th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the russian federation. At the same time, his parents still live in the Poltava region.

In January 2025, the traitor was captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk region. The SBI detained him and served a notification of suspicion.

The former soldier admits his guilt and is currently in custody. He is accused of high treason (Part 1, 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for life imprisonment.
