Based on the materials of the State Bureau of Investigation, the court seized and transferred to the National Agency of Ukraine for finding, tracing and management of assets derived from corruption and other crimes (abbr. - ARMA) additional corporate rights of legal entities indirectly owned by people's deputy Oleksii Kovalov. These private companies are part of the "Channel 4" group of companies.

It should be reminded that the State Bureau of Investigation is conducting an investigation against the Member of Parliament of Ukraine, who, after the full-scale invasion of the russian federation, stayed in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region and assisted the occupation troops.

During the investigation, it was established that in early July this year, Oleksii Kovalov took the post of deputy's head in the illegally created by the occupation administration of the aggressor state - the so-called "government of Kherson region".

According to unconfirmed documented information, in June 2022, Oleksii Kovalov supposedly died as a result of a car explosion in the occupied territory of the Kherson region. However, the SBI investigators currently have no official confirmation of this information.

On July 6, 2022, the Prosecutor General, based on the evidence collected by the State Bureau of Investigation, notified him of suspicion.

On July 15, at the request of the State Bureau of Investigation, a measure of restraint in the form of detention without the alternative of bail was selected for the People's Deputy of Ukraine Oleksii Kovalov.

The deputy was put on the wanted list.

Earlier, the property of LLC "TRK "Interradio" - Ukrainian information and entertainment TV channel "Channel 4", owned by Kovalov, was transferred to the ARMA at the disposal of the Ukraine State Agency of Film.

The deputy is suspected of high treason under martial law (Part 2 Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and of aiding the aggressor state (Part 1 Art. 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for punishment of up to 15 years or life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

The Prosecutor General's Office provides procedural guidance.
