In 2024, the SBI doubled its indicators compared to the previous year: The Bureau investigated almost 156 thousand criminal proceedings
The State Bureau of Investigation from year to year increases its capabilities to prevent, detect, suppress, disclose and investigate criminal offenses within its competence.
Compared to the previous year, 2023, the number of investigated criminal proceedings has more than doubled. In 2023 this number was 71 898 criminal proceedings and in 2024 it rose to 155 874. The number of open cases also increased significantly - 91 906 against 30 554 in 2023.
In general, there has been a considerable increase in all of the agency's performance indicators. In particular, the number of registered applications and reports of criminal offenses has more than tripled – 88 904 against 27 996.
The number of persons against whom indictments for committing criminal offenses have been drawn up has also increased - 8 177 against 7 584; the number of persons in respect of whom the conviction of the court on committing criminal offenses has entered into legal force - 3 087 against 2 838.
The fact that the SBI continued to work effectively in the face of large-scale aggression of the russian federation against our country is evidenced by other statistics. Thus, the amount of losses and damage established during the investigation of criminal offenses amounted to 6 billion 145 million UAH (2 billion UAH - in the 2023 year), the amount of their compensation - 479 million UAH against 161 million UAH; confiscated property was transferred to the Asset Recovery and Management Agency - 11 billion 753 million UAH (7 billion 300 million UAH), income from asset management amounted to 1 billion 074 million UAH (117.95 million UAH).
The employees of the State Bureau of Investigation have exposed traitors and collaborators, corrupt officials and dishonest suppliers in the sphere of ensuring the needs of the Defense Forces, large-scale abuses in the territorial centers of recruitment and social support and military medical commissions, channels of illegal movement of men of military age across the state border, and other criminal offenses that reduce the state's defense capability.
Also, the attention of the SBI was focused on exposing corruption mechanisms in various spheres of life, identifying unjustified assets and facts of illegal enrichment by officials, combating organized crime in accordance with the jurisdiction.
For 2024 year, the employees of the SBI detained 2 066 people, including:
1 official of category "A";
1 judge;
3 prosecutors;
9 tax authorities;
10 customs officers;
hundreds of law enforcement officers and others.
Also in 2024, the SBI served notifications of suspicion to 15 709 persons, in particular:
3 members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine or their deputies;

Therefore, the increase in public trust to the SBI, which, according to opinion polls, reached to 45 percent in 2024, is quite logical.
In 2025, the SBI will continue systematic work to achieve its main mission, which is to establish justice in society through an independent and comprehensive investigation of crimes in order to bring those responsible to justice, despite their positions, connections and resources.
The law is one for all!
