The territory of sales - the whole country: the SBI exposed and stopped the large-scale amphetamine production in Bukovyna (VIDEO)

The State Bureau of Investigation continues systematic work to identify channels for the manufacture and sale of narcotic and psychotropic substances. The fight against drug trafficking is especially important during the war, as it undermines Ukraine's defense capability from within.

In Chernivtsi region, the SBI employees detected and stopped large-scale drug production. The illegal laboratory was manufacturing amphetamine on an industrial scale, which was then sold in all regions of Ukraine, including frontline areas.

The sale of drugs took place through messengers, then they were transferred by means of "street placing" or postal items. The investigators established about five hundred facts of sending drugs through postal operators.

On September 27, 2022, the SBI conducted searches at a possible place of manufacture and storage of psychotropic drugs, as well as the place of residence of persons involved in the crime.

The SBI employees found and seized the laboratory equipment and precursors, tanks with reagents used for the manufacture of psychotropic substances and more than 5 thousand ready-to-use doses of amphetamine.

Also, the seller, who made wholesale purchases from the laboratory and resold the drugs was detained "red-handed" during the sale of another package of amphetamine.

In total, about 10 people were involved in the operation of the illegal laboratory, the full circle of participants will be identified by the investigation. The persons who ensured the functioning of the "business" in other regions are being checked. The investigation is ongoing.

The detainee has already been served a notice of suspicion of illegal production and sale of drugs in large quantities (Part 2 Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for up to 10 years imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Procedural guidance is provided by the Chernivtsi Specialized Prosecutor's Office in Military and Defense Sphere of the Western Region.

It should be reminded that recently the SBI officers in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies exposed a resident of Dnipro city, who organized the supply and sale of drugs in the territories, including near the combat zone. 

Since the beginning of the russian aggression, the SBI and the National Police of Ukraine have initiated investigationsin more than 270 criminal proceedings on the trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogs and precursors among the residents of frontline areas.
