The captain of a russian warship, who bombarded Mykolayiv and Odessa with cruise missiles will be sued


The SBI employees finished a special pretrial investigation of former captain of the 2nd rank of the military unit stationed in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and actually the commander of the russian frigate «Admiral Makarov» of suspicion of high treason.

In 2014, he betrayed his oath to the people of Ukraine and remained in the military unit seized by the russian occupiers, refusing to be redeployed to the Mykolayiv region. The deserter swore his oath to russian federation and continued his service in russian sea fleet.

In 2022 the ship under his command launched cruise missiles at Mykolaiv and Odesa.

The former Ukrainian military officer is being charde of high treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to 15 years.
