The court detained servicemen involved in wounding of children at exhibition in Chernihiv (VIDEO)

At the request of the SBI investigators, the Desnianskyi District Court of Chernihiv chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention for 2 months with the right to be released on bail for two servicemen involved in injuring children in Chernihiv.

The bail for the serviceman, who allowed a child to pull the trigger of a rocket-propelled anti-tank grenade at an arms exhibition and his commander were set in the amount of UAH 416 thousand each.

Earlier, the SBI employeees notified these servicemen of suspicion of violation of the rules of handling weapons, which caused bodily injuries to several persons (Part 2 of Art. 414 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 10 years.

Procedural guidance is provided by the Chernihiv Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Military and Defense Sphere of the Central Region.

It should be reminded that on September 4, 2022, the SBI employees reported suspicion to two servicemen involved in injuring children at an arms exhibition in Chernihiv.

One of the servicemen, during a demonstration of weapons, allowed a child to pick up an equipped anti-tank rocket grenade (RPG-26) and pull the trigger. The shot injured at least nine people, six of them were children.
