He worked for the occupiers in Kherson and spent four years on fleeing the justice— the traitor has been arrested

Crimes against the foundations of Ukraine’s national security, including high treason and collaboration with the occupying authorities, remain a top priority for the State Bureau of Investigation.

Due to the cooperation between the State Bureau of Investigation and the Security Service of Ukraine, a resident of the Kherson region has been detained. During the occupation of the city, he assisted the russian invaders, and after Kherson’s liberation, he evaded justice for nearly four years.

At the time the city was captured, the man was serving as a rifleman in the rifle squad of the «Kherson» station, part of the railway’s paramilitary security force. After the occupiers arrived, he voluntarily joined the «Kherson railway» enterprise established by the invaders.

The investigation established that the occupiers used the station as a key logistics hub for supplying weapons and ammunition to russian troops. The suspect guarded these shipments and facilitated the operations of the occupying forces.

After the de-occupation of Kherson, the man fled and went into hiding in Ukraine. The employees of the SBI served him notification of suspicion in absentia and sent an indictment to the court, while operatives continued to search for him.

To evade prosecution, the suspect constantly changed his place of residence and exploited his status as an internally displaced person. However, law enforcement officers determined his whereabouts, tracked him down in Odesa, and detained him.

The man is currently charged with high treason committed under martial law (Article 111, Part 2, of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for up to life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
