The official from Khmelnytskyi region will stand trial for transferring land belonging to the Ministry of Defence to private ownership
The SBI employees completed a pre-trial investigation against an official of Starokostiantyniv City Council of Khmelnytskyi region, whose negligence led to illegal privatization of 12 hectares of land owned by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. The indictment was sent to court.
It was established that during the inventory of community land, the official registered the land of the Ministry of Defence as communal property.
Based on misleading information, the deputies of Starokostiantyniv City Council transferred almost 12 hectares of the Ministry of Defence land to private ownership and the official approved this draft decision.
These lands were divided into 81 plots and given to citizens, and the state could have lost more than UAH 11 million.
However, thanks to the work of the SBI, the land was seized and transferred to the National Agency of Ukraine for finding, tracing and management of assets derived from corruption and other crimes.
The official of Starokostiantyniv City Council is charged with official negligence that caused grave consequences (Part 2 Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 5 years.
Procedural supervision is carried out by the Khmelnytskyi Specialized Prosecutor's Office in Military and Defense Sphere of the Western Region.
