The official of the State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography, and Cadastre will stand trial for trying to bribe the SBI investigator
Employees of the State Bureau investigation have completed a pre-trial investigation into the Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the StateGeoCadastre in Chernihiv region, who attempted to bribe the SBI investigator. The indictment has been submitted to the court.
In 2020, employees of the Bureau launched an investigation into abuse of power by officials of the Chernihiv Region's StateGeoCadastre, in which the official is one of the suspects.
On 17 September 2021, the official offered USD 5,000 to an investigator of the Regional Department of State Bureau of Investigation located in the city of Kyiv to terminate criminal proceedings against her.
On 30 September 2021, the official was caught red-handed while providing a bribe to the SBI investigator near the Regional Department of State Bureau of Investigation building located in the city of Kyiv.
An official is accused of offering and providing an illegal advantage to an official holding a responsible position (Part 3 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to 8 years with confiscation of property.
