The organizers of the fraud scheme for the expropriation of land of the Kyiv Hydroelectric Station were trying to seize 300 hectares of land that worth more than UAH 1 billion

The persons suspected in organising of the fraud scheme for the expropriation of land of critical infrastructure - the Kyiv Hydroelectric Station, were trying to seize 300 hectares of land that worth more than UAH 1 billion.

This was stated on the air of the all-Ukrainian telemarathon "United News" by the adviser of the SBI Tatyana Sapyan.

"Currently, investigators are conducting an investigation to prove the involvement of persons involved in criminal proceeding in the seizure of 300 hectares of land with an estimated cost of more than UAH 1 billion", said Tatyana Sapyan.

Taking into account the financial status of the suspects, the amount of bail for the detainees was determined. In addition, she has reminded that one of the person involved in the case in the criminal proceedings was detained while trying to leave Ukraine.

Therefore, the bail of UAH 700 million was proposed for the organizer of the criminal group, and for the rest of the detainees - UAH 500 million each.

"The investigation offered to the court to consider a  detention with the possibility of making bail of UAH 700 million and UAH 500 million. The financial status of the suspects, their ability to hide from the investigation were taken into account", - said the SBI adviser.

It should be reminded that the employees of the State Bureau of Investigation  together with the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine, during the attempt to leave the country, detained the organizer of the scheme of illegal acquisition of the lands on which the hydro-technical facilities of the Kyiv Hydroelectric Station are located.

Three more members of the criminal organization were also detained in different regions of Ukraine.

They received suspicions of illegal acquisition of more than 7 hectares of land on which hydro-technical structures of critical infrastructure are located.
