In Zakarpattia, the SBI notified 5 policemen of suspicion for data fraud with imported cars
The SBI employees suspect 5 officers of the "Mukachevo" customs checkpoint of the Zakarpattia Customs Service of engaging in illegal activities with state electronic systems.
In August-September of 2021, the state inspectors entered untruthful data in an automated system of the arrival of 29 cars, imported by a private company into the customs zone.
The investigation found that the officials illegally released the cars from customs control. The cars didn't go through the checkpoints, but the inspectors illegally marked the arrival of vehicles in the ASMO system, finished the customs clearance, and released them into free transit. This made it possible not to inspect the cars, reduce their value, and put them on sale for the minimum price.
Four custom officers were notified of suspicion of unauthorized actions with information, repeatedly committed by a group of the person upon their prior conspiracy (Part 1 Article 362, Part 3 Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), they face punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to six years.
Another officer is suspected under Part 1 of Article 362 of the CC of Ukraine and faces a fine or community service.
Procedural guidance is provided by the Zakarpattia Regional Prosecutor's Office.
