In Cherkasy region, the SBI served notification of suspicion to the Head of the colony, who helped the criminal authorities to hold a «meeting»

The employees of the SBI exposed the Head of the colony from Cherkasy region, who had helped criminal authorities to hold the so-called «meeting» on the territory of the institution.

The official allowed criminal authorities to enter the correctional institution at the request of the previously convicted resident of Uman, who had the status of the «overseer» of this colony from freedom.

According to the investigation, in February 2024, between two criminal authorities, who were serving their sentences in the penal colony, the conflict arose over money and the distribution of spheres of influence. To solve it, the «overseer» decided to hold the criminal meeting on the territory of the institution. He invited 5 people to the «meeting» through his confidant, who has the status of «criminal personality» in the criminal environment.

The Head of the institution facilitated the holding of the criminal meeting in the premises of the correctional colony. He also ordered his subordinates to turn off the power supply in order to turn off the video surveillance cameras and personally led criminal authorities to the territory of the institution through the main gate.

Currently, the investigators of the SBI, in cooperation with the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police of Ukraine, have detained 5 participants of the criminal meeting and the Head of the correctional colony.

All of them and two other prisoners were served notifications of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 255-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
