In Bukovina, based on materials of the SBI, the former head of the State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre will be judged for the illegal distribution of lands worth UAH 3.5 million
The State Bureau of Investigation has completed a pre-trial investigation into the former head of the Main Department of the State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre (State Geocadastre) in Chernivtsi region. He is accused of abuse of office, that caused the state losses of over UAH 3.5 million.
The indictment has been sent to the court.
According to the investigation, in 2020–2021, the official signed a series of orders illegally transferring land plots in the city of Chernivtsi (0.3 hectares) and the village of Zdoburiv in the Zastavna district (2.4 hectares) to private ownership. Formally, they were issued for personal farming, although they belonged to territorial communities and were not subject of such transfer.
According to expert conclusion, the unlawful transfer of 2.7 hectares of land to private ownership caused the state losses amounting to approximately UAH 3.5 million. The investigation also established that the official personally supervised the preparation of the documents and insisted on their expedited approval.
The issue of returning the land plots to the ownership of the respective territorial communities will be resolved in the court.
To ensure compensation for damages, the defendant's property has been seized, namely an apartment, non-residential premises in Ivano-Frankivsk and a car.
The former official is charged under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of office resulting in serious consequences).
By court decision, he has been removed from his position.
He faces up to six years in prison for his actions.
