Former OPFL MP Oleh Voloshyn will stand trial for high treason. The SBI has completed its investigation (VIDEO)
The State Bureau of Investigation has completed a pre-trial investigation into Oleh Voloshyn, a former MP from the banned OPFL party, who is suspected of high treason.
The indictment has been sent to court.
It has been proven that in recent years, the MP, speaking from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as well as in numerous interviews and TV appearances, has been spreading russian propaganda narratives and conducting subversive activities against Ukraine.
His words distorted the real state of affairs in the military and political life of the country, in sensitive social issues, etc.
According to experts, all of his speeches in terms of their general content constitute a form of subversion. In fact, he was engaged in propaganda that contributed to the achievement of the political goals of the military and political leadership of the russian federation in relation to Ukraine.
By doing so, he harmed the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability, defence capability, state, economic and information security of Ukraine.
The MP is charged with high treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and intentional infliction of light bodily harm (Part 1 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) for beating an АТО veteran in the summer of 2020.
He faces up to fifteen years in prison.
The Prosecutor General's Office is providing procedural supervision.
