A former law enforcement officer from Kupyansk, who was a convoy for the occupiers and abused detained Ukrainians, will face life imprisonment

The SBI employees have completed a pre-trial investigation against a former law enforcement officer who helped the occupiers in Kupiansk, Kharkiv region.

After the beginning of the russian invasion of Ukraine, the suspect chose to work for the invaders as part of a so-called convoy unit that was to operate on the base of the occupation police in Kupiansk.

On the instructions of the russians, the man guarded illegally detained Ukrainian citizens, including the participants of the anti-terrorist operation. There are cases when he would beat and abuse detainees.

The traitor even received the position of temporary head of the convoy service group, and then took another position - commander of one of the occupation police guard departments in Kupyansk.

After the occupiers fled Kupiansk, the man stayed in the city and tried to hide. However, he was detained.

The former law enforcement officer is accused of high treason committed under martial law (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Procedural supervision is carried out by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
