The Director of the State Bureau of Investigation held a meeting with the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Ukraine – cooperation and next steps in interaction were discussed

A meeting took place at the State Bureau of Investigation between SBI Director Oleksii Sukhachov and the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Ukraine, Julie S. Davis.

During the conversation, the SBI Director outlined the Bureau’s key areas of work, its place within the law enforcement system, and its main functions as defined by law. He noted that, in the context of a full-scale war, SBI personnel continue to effectively carry out their tasks, focusing on uncovering serious crimes and protecting the interests of the state. He also emphasized that the Bureau consistently implements modern investigative approaches and remains open to international experience.

The parties also separately discussed cooperation with international partners. Oleksii Sukhachov stressed the importance of deepening interaction, exchanging best practices, and strengthening practical coordination in the field of law enforcement. He also noted that the partnership between Ukraine and the United States is strategic in nature and plays an important role in strengthening security, law and order, and the institutional capacity of the state.

For her part, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Ukraine Julie S. Davis highlighted the important role of the SBI in strengthening the rule of law and confirmed interest in further developing cooperation and supporting joint initiatives.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue a constructive dialogue and work on implementing joint projects in the law enforcement sphere.
