The SBI investigates causes of military aircraft crash in Vinnytsia region during destruction of enemy drones (VIDEO)
The State Bureau of Investigation is constantly documenting war crimes committed by the russian federation. The collected materials of relevant expertises, documented eyewitness testimonies and the establishment of objective circumstances of the events will further become a worthy legal basis for condemning russia's armed aggression on the international level.
The SBI employees are establishing the circumstances of the crash of a military aircraft in Vinnytsia region, which occurred on October 12, 2022 at about 21:00 during the announcement of the "air raid" signal.
According to preliminary information, the military pilot was on a combat mission to destroy enemy UAVs. He managed to shoot down 5 kamikaze drones "Shahed-136". According to one of the investigation versions, near the village of Turbiv, during the destruction of another object, the debris of the downed enemy drone hit the cockpit of the Ukrainian aircraft.
The pilot directed the MiG-29 fighter into the field to avoid large-scale destruction and civilian losses. Fortunately, he managed to eject. The serviceman is currently hospitalized.
There were no victims among the civilians.
Investigative actions are underway, appropriate examinations are being conducted. This proceeding will become another fact of documenting the aggressor's crimes against Ukraine.
Procedural guidance of the pre-trial investigation is carried out by the Vinnytsia Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the military and defense sphere.
