The SBI has completed its investigation into a tax official from Mariupol who took money from entrepreneurs for the intruders benefit

Investigators of the SBI have completed a pre-trial investigation into a former audit inspector of a department of the State Tax Service in Donetsk region, who worked for the occupiers and extorted money from local entrepreneurs after the capture of Mariupol.

The indictment was sent to court.

The tax officer actively supported the invaders immediately after the start of the temporary occupation of Mariupol and was appointed head of the audit department of the occupiers' fake body in charge of collecting money from the the residents.

She called entrepreneurs personally and convinced them to register with the self-proclaimed "donetsk people's republic" tax authorities. The traitor threatened that the entrepreneurs would be unable to continue their operations in Mariupol until they obtained this registration.

The defendant also participated in the creation of propaganda materials for the Russian Federation.

The former tax officer is accused of high treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office is in charge of the proceedings.

The State Bureau of Investigation once again emphasises and warns all officials and law enforcement officers against cooperation with the occupation forces. Severe punishment for such crimes is inevitable.
