The SBI has completed a pre-trial investigation into the former commander of the corvette Lutsk, who defected to the enemy and is now in command of a russian ship
The SBI is consistently working on bringing to justice former Ukrainian servicemen who have betrayed their oath of allegiance during the war in Ukraine and are fighting against their own people on the side of the occupier.
Employees of the SBI completed a pre-trial investigation against the former commander of the anti-submarine corvette Lutsk, who in 2014, after russia's invasion of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, defected to the invaders. The indictment has been sent to court.
The third-rank captain swore allegiance to the aggressor after his unit in Sevastopol was captured by russian armed forces.
He is currently in command of the russian ship Suzdalets, which the occupiers renamed Lutsk. The traitor is actively involved in the russian invasion of Ukraine.
The former military officer is charged with high treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He faces a sentence of imprisonment for up to 15 years.
Procedural supervision is being carried out by the Odesa Specialised Military and Defence Prosecutor's Office of the Southern Region.
