The SBI detained a resident of Kherson region, who is suspected of working for the invaders

The employees of the SBI together with the Security Service of Ukraine have detained and served notification of suspicion of collaboration to a resident of the Kherson region, who worked for the invaders at one of the occupied correctional colonies.

In 2022, when russian troops captured part of the Kherson region, the man voluntarily began to cooperate with the occupation authorities and got a job at the occupied "Daryivska correctional colony №10". Since June 2022, he has served as a "junior inspector of the security department" for which he has received a salary in rubles.

After the de-occupation of the Kherson region, the man remained on the territory controlled by Ukraine. He was concealing the fact that he had collaborated with the invaders and moved to another region, where he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The SBI has exposed and detained a defector at the Kharkiv region. He was served notification of suspicion of voluntary employment at the illegal occupation law enforcement agency on the temporarily occupied territory (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to 15 years with confiscation of property.

The court has chosen to the defendant a preventive measure in the form of detention.
