SBI detained a collaborator who first served the occupiers in Kherson and then decided to join the Armed Forces

SBI officers, in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine, served a notice of suspicion to a dog handler of a correctional colony in Hola Prystan, Kherson region.

After the occupation of the city, he did not want to lose his income and voluntarily agreed to work for the occupiers, receiving the position of senior instructor - dog handler of the correctional facility. The collaborator ensured the operation of the dog training centre, trained dogs guarding the territory of the colony and received a salary in rubles from the occupiers.

After working for the Nazis for 4 months, the man decided to return to the territory controlled by Ukraine. Through Crimea and the Baltic States, he moved to Brovary, near Kyiv.

According to intelligence, he had repeatedly expressed his intention to join the Armed Forces and was looking for an opportunity to do so.

The investigation will check his intentions to join the Ukrainian army.

The cynologist was served a notice of suspicion of collaboration (Part 7 Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The punishment provided for in the article is imprisonment for up to 15 years.

The court also chose custody as a measure of restraint. The Ternopil Regional Prosecutor's Office is providing procedural supervision.
