SBI employees exposed and served a notice of suspicion to a colonel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Zaporizhzhia who was selling fuel and profiting from the war. The amount of state losses is over UAH 2.3 million.

The State Emergency Service was allocated fuel by the state to eliminate the consequences of rocket attacks, carry out demining, and evacuate people from the frontline areas. However, it was stolen and subsequently sold or used by private trucks.

In addition, current SES employees were involved in the request. These "rescuers" did not appear at their place of service for months, although they were paid. One of the suspects actually acted as a black fuel dispenser and was constantly on the territory of the colonel's household.

The fuel embezzlement was so large-scale that the official had to set up a mini-filling station right on the territory of his own estate.

During the investigation, the police found fuel vouchers belonging to the SES, stolen diesel fuel, and equipment for its storage and sale. Money in various currencies in the amount of over UAH 8 million in the hryvnia equivalent.

The colonel owns premium cars and a luxurious estate on the banks of the Dnipro River. This is not the entire list of items found during the searches conducted by SBI officers at the premises of the head of the emergency rescue unit of the Zaporizhzhia State Emergency Service.

In addition, information about the illegal acquisition of a land plot in the centre of Zaporizhzhia, on which the mansion of the main suspect was built, is being checked. According to the investigation, this land was used by the former metrological station of the SES and "mysteriously" became the property of the "dealer".

The SBI served all six suspects a notice of suspicion under Part 4.5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of choosing a measure of restraint is being decided.

The Zaporizzhia Region Prosecutor's Office is in charge of the procedural supervision.
