The SBI has exposed a Kharkiv prosecutor on a bribe of $35 000 (VIDEO)

Following State Securit Service materials and under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office, SBI agents detained a district prosecutor in Kharkiv on receiving a $35,000 bribe.

The prosecutor offered a citizen to "help" him return real estate that his business partners had expropriated from him in return for $35,000. He promised the man that he would initiate criminal proceedings in which the property would become subject to a court seizure and its registration file would be removed. This would allow the property to be returned.

The prosecutor sent his cohabitant to receive the money. After the intermediary took the promised amount, both offenders were detained by the SBI.

Immediate investigative and procedural activities are underway, and papers are being prepared to impose a preventive measure in the form of detention and removal of the suspect from office.

The prosecutor and the mediator were served a notice of suspicion of receiving an unlawful benefit by an official (part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property.
