The SBI exposed an organized group that stole more than 101 million UAH during the procurements for the soldiers

The employees of the SBI served notifications of suspicion to officials of the Housing and Maintenance Department of Lugansk, which is currently part of the logistics forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as to their accomplices. The criminals defrauded more than 101 million UAH during the procurements of fuel wood for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The illegal scheme was organized by the Former Head of the Housing and Maintenance Department of Lugansk. He involved to the scheme the two current officials of the unit stationed in Dnipro, as well as the former employee of the Housing and Maintenance Department and a private entrepreneur. The participants of the deal have organized the procurements of fuel wood for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at an inflated cost, without an open bidding procedure and under contracts with indirect suppliers.

The procurements were made through individual entrepreneurs whose accounts were under the full control of the participants of the scheme. In total, the employees of the SBI have identified 35 individual entrepreneurs whose accounts were involved in the deal.

47 facts of procurements at an inflated cost were established. The amount of damage caused to the state is more than 101 million UAH.

The law enforcement officers have conducted 28 searches, during of which they seized documents, computer equipment and mobile phones.

The five members of the organized group were served notifications of suspicion of possession of someone else's property by abuse of official position, committed repeatedly, under martial law, on an especially large scale, as part of an organized group (Part 3 of Article 27, Part 5 Article 27, Part 5 Article 191, Part 5 Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the articles provides for imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property.
