The SBI has exposed the head of the state-owned enterprise, who transferred 12 million UAH for the repair of the property in Mariupol after its occupation
The employees of the SBI have served notification of suspicion to the acting director of one of the state-owned enterprises in Mariupol, who spent almost 12 million UAH during the martial law on fictitious repairs in the city that is occupied by russians.
On February 21, 2022, the official signed a contract with a private company for carrying out works on a state-owned enterprise. Due to the full-scale invasion of russia on the territory of Ukraine, the execution of works became impossible.
The acting director left the temporarily occupied Mariupol to the controlled territory, from where he personally agreed the transfer of payment for repairs in the amount of 11,6 million UAH to the accounts of a private company.
The employees of the Bureau conducted the search of the official, during which cash and documents were seized.
The man was served notification of suspicion of committing embezzlement of another's property, by abusing the power by official, committed repeatedly, under martial law, on an especially large scale (Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The request for choosing a preventive measure to the suspect in the form of detention was sent to the court.
The sanction of the Article provides for imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property.
Actions are being taken to reimburse the damages caused to the state.
