The SBI exposed the head of Vovchansk district court and former law enforcement officer who fled the city together with their "new masters"
The State Bureau of Investigation continues to systematically expose and punish traitors who have defected to the enemy.
The SBI agents reported suspicion to the head of the Vovchansk District Court of Kharkiv region, who, after the seizure of Vovchansk by russians, began to help the invaders create an occupation judicial institution.
She actively persuaded her subordinates to betray Ukraine, start working in the occupation structure and get russian passports. After the liberation of Vovchansk, the woman fled to russia together with the occupiers.
In addition, the SBI employees completed a special pre-trial investigation against a former law enforcement officer from the city of Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, who was an investigator in the so-called police department during the occupation.
The indictment was sent to court.
After the occupation of the city, the man voluntarily defected to the enemy, helped to create the occupation police department, was on duty at checkpoints, and accompanied the occupants' convoys. In addition, together with the russian military, he searched for retired Ukrainian law enforcers and anti-terrorist operation participants.
In April, the occupation administration appointed the suspect to the position of an investigator in a local pseudo-law enforcement agency.
The head of the district court is suspected of treason, and the former law enforcement officer is accused of treason (Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Procedural supervision is carried out by the Kharkiv Region Prosecutor's Office.
Earlier, the SBI sent to court proceedings against another traitor from Vovchansk. He worked as a chief of district inspectors of the occupation police.
The SBI also sent to court proceedings against a forester from Vovchansk, who headed the occupation forestry, as well as against a former Ukrainian law enforcer from Vovchansk, who worked as a chief of district police inspectors for the occupiers.
