The SBI has sent to court an indictment against one of the organizers of mass riots in Odesa on May 2, 2014 - Dmytro Fuchedzha
The SBI officers completed a special pre-trial investigation against the former deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Odesa region - chief of public security police Dmytro Fuchedzha on charges of organizing mass riots in Odesa on May 2, 2014.
The indictment was sent to court.
It was established that the official was managing the representatives of the public movement "Antimaidan", who on May 2, 2014, in the central part of Odesa staged mass riots, committed violence, pogroms, and destroyed property. Their actions led to the death of people and other serious consequences.
In addition, on May 4, 2014, due to the deliberate inaction of Dmytro Fuchedzhi, who was appointed acting head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Odesa region after the riots in the city, «antimaidan» activists invaded the police building and released 63 of their supporters. At the same time, Fuchedzhi gave a verbal order to open the cells of the temporary detention facility of the Odesa City Department and to release the detainees.
We would like to emphasize that the materials of the pre-trial investigation completely refuted the version of the events of May 2, 2014 in Odesa, announced on May 5, 2021 by Dmytro Fuchedzhi himself at an informal event with the participation of members of the United Nations Security Council, organized by the russian delegation.
His version of the events was constantly spread and supported by representatives of the aggressor state, as well as published in all pro-russian media, in order to form a false idea about the tragic events of May 2014 in Odesa among the entire civilized world and to promote their own propaganda narratives in international institutions and organizations as such that were allegedly presented at a meeting of the United Nations Security Council under a cynical title: "Odesa 7 years after neo-nazism and violent nationalism as factors of the conflict in Ukraine".
Dmytro Fuchedzhi is accused of organizing mass riots, abuse of office, aiding and abetting the seizure of a public authority building and influencing a law enforcement officer to make an illegal decision in 2014 (Part 2 of Article 294; Part 2 of Article 364; Article 341; Part 2 of Article 343 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanctions of the articles provide for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 15 years.
According to the investigation, in May 2014, Fuchedzhi fled to the so-called the Pridnestrovian Moldovan Republic, from where he moved to the russian federation for permanent residence. In 2017, he received russian citizenship.
Procedural guidance was provided by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
