The SBI investigates proceeding on non-statutory relations in the 211th Brigade
On December 16, 2024, the Ternopil Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense opened the criminal proceeding on the fact of applying non-statutory measures of influence to subordinates (Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) by the command of the 211th Pontoon-Bridge Brigade. The investigation was entrusted to the State Bureau of Investigation.
The employees of the SBI started an investigation of the criminal proceeding to identify possible facts of the use by the officials of the 211th Pontoon-Bridge Brigade of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of non-statutory measures of influence and violence against subordinates.
The investigation will analyze the materials, that were collected by the Main Inspectorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine during the official inspections of the brigade, as well as reports in the media and social media about the abuse of soldiers.
It should be noted that the SBI has not received any materials about this situation either from officials or from fighters of the brigade.
As an aside, the State Bureau of Investigation calls on military personnel to immediately apply to the State Bureau of Investigation with official complaints if there are such cases in their military units. This will allow not only to respond quickly to violations, but also to avoid such cases in the future.
In addition, the National Police of Ukraine is also conducting the investigation against the leadership of the brigade on the fact of involving subordinates in the building of his house in Khmelnytsky region, instead of their service in the combat area.
Today he was served notification of suspicion of abuse of office with serious consequences (Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
