The SBI investigates the betrayal of the mayor of Sviatohirsk, who publicly supported the occupiers


The SBI employees have launched a criminal investigation into the high treason of the mayor of Sviatohirsk, Donetsk region. The mayor gives interviews to russian propagandists, in which he publicly promotes "russian peace" and discredits the Armed Forces and the state authorities of Ukraine.

In one of these videos, shared on social networks, the mayor publicly supported the propagandistic views of the "liberators", discrediting the Armed Forces of Ukraine and state authorities, spread a russian fake about the alleged arson by the Ukrainian military All Saints Monastery of Sviatohirsk Lavra and more.

The SBI investigators have launched a pre-trial investigation into the high treason against the mayor (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The issue of notifying him of suspicion of high treason is being considered.

The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to 15 years or life imprisonment.

The pre-trial investigation is underway.

Procedural guidance in criminal proceedings is provided by the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, and the Security Service of Ukraine provides operative support.

The State Bureau of Investigation again emphasizes and warns all officials and law enforcement officers against cooperating with the russian occupation forces. Severe punishment for such crimes is inevitable.

The short-term benefits of serving the occupiers will turn into shameful and prolonged imprisonment.
