The SBI conducts searches at the Deputy Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine

The employees of the SBI are conducting searches at the place of living of the Deputy Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine as part of an investigation into possible misleading of the court.

The searches are being conducted to identify evidence that may indicate the intentional provision of false testimony in favor of a Former Judge of the Makariv district court of the Kyiv region.

It was established that the Deputy Head of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine is on friendly terms with the Former Judge.

According to the preliminary information, the Deputy Head of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine may have provided deliberately false testimony during interrogation as a witness in criminal proceeding on suspicion of the Former Judge of committing a fatal accident, combined with artificial creation of evidence for the defense.

The day before, the employees of the SBI had also conducted searches at the place of work of the Deputy Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation is being carried out on the grounds of a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 384 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Misleading the court or other authorized body).

The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to 5 years.

Procedural guidance is provided by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

It should be reminded, that indictment has been submitted to court against the Former Head of the Makariv District Court of Kyiv Region who was in the state of intoxication when he hit a serviceman of the National Guard of Ukraine by the car at a checkpoint in Kyiv.

As a result of an accident, a 23-year-old soldier of the National Guard of Ukraine died.
