The SBI employees exposed and halted the activities of the unregulated network of illegal gambling halls, which were operating in Ukraine.

According to operative information, up to 24 February 2022 there were about 400 illegal gambling halls on the territory of the country. After the start of full-scale russian aggression, they briefly suspended their work, but gradually began to reopen.

The halls in Kyiv and Odesa were the most active. The monthly turnover of the gambling establishments only in these two cities was on average 300 million hryvnias.

Underground halls operated in different districts of the cities with a strict conspiracy. Customers were hooked on gambling so they became regular visitors and wanted to bring new ones.

Business owners systematically paid law enforcement officers to ensure unhindered illegal activities.

The SBI employees made over 115 simultaneous searches of the places of residence of illegal business owners, and offices that ensured the operation of illegal gambling houses and operating gambling halls.

530 pieces of computer equipment, "black" accounting, records, and other things that indicate the illegal activities of gambling houses were seized during the raid. Over 7 million hryvnias in various currencies were also seized.

Active procedural actions continue, including measures to prevent the renovation of other establishments in the network.
