SBI served another notice of suspicion of calling for violent change of the constitutional order and propaganda of war to former MP Ilya Kiva
Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation have served a notice of suspicion of public calls for a violent change of the constitutional order and war propaganda to former MP from the banned political party 'Opposition Platform for Life', Ilya Kiva.
The investigation established that the former MP continues to disseminate anti-Ukrainian propaganda information among the population. In his numerous publications, Ilya Kiva created an image of the current Ukrainian government as an enemy for the public, which should be deterred from aggression. He actively stirred up anti-government sentiment in Ukrainian society and justified russia's war of aggression against Ukraine. Kiva glorified and justified any military actions of the russians, and "incited" the Ukrainian audience against patriotic compatriots, and the russian audience against Ukrainians. He promoted the expediency of resolving "contradictions" with the use of military force and the large-scale use of the russian armed forces on the territory of our country.
The former Member of Parliament of Ukraine was served a notice of suspicion of public calls for a violent change of the constitutional order (Article 109(3) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and propaganda of war (Article 436 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The article provides for up to 5 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Earlier, he was notified of suspicion of high treason, as well as war propaganda and calls for a violent change of government.
According to the investigation, he is currently hiding abroad. He has been put on the international wanted list.
