The SBI served a notice of suspicion to a traitor who distributes russian passports to Berdiansk citizens and agitates to apply for them

The SBI employees served a notice of suspicion to the former head of the Selydivskyi city department of the State Migration Service, which issues russian passports in the Berdiansk district of Zaporizhzhia region.

After the start of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the official defected to the invader's side voluntarily. He moved from the territory of Donetsk region, which was free from the invaders, to the captured Berdiansk. The traitor actively contributed to the illegal establishment of the russian migration service. In particular, he organized the work of a center for accepting documents for russian citizenship.

As a reward for his betrayal, he was promoted to the position of the head of the occupation structure in the "Department of Internal Affairs in Berdiansk and Berdiansk district", where he is currently in charge of the passport distribution process.

The defendant also became the face of russian passport issuance in the occupied territories of Ukraine: he actively agitates the local population to commit treason, provides comments to propaganda media, and personally hands out passports.

The former civil servant was served in absentia with a notice of suspicion of high treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of life imprisonment.

The Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office is providing procedural supervision.
