SBI serves notice of suspicion to senior official of state enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" of embezzlement of over UAH 15 million

SBI officers served a notice of suspicion of embezzlement of public funds to the former director of the State Enterprise Specialised Forestry Agro-Industrial Enterprise Kamen-KashyrskaHrolis. The official now heads the Southern Forestry Office of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine", which covers Mykolaiv, Odesa and Kherson regions.

It has been established that over several years, the offender, in prior conspiracy with the chief accountant of the state enterprise, transferred over UAH 15 million to private entrepreneurs. They allegedly provided services for vehicle repairs, road transport, repair of premises, garbage collection, shipment of timber products, etc.

During the investigation, the Bureau found that some of the contracts were fictitious and no services were provided. The amount of illegally transferred funds in the amount of more than UAH 15 million was confirmed by an expert examination.

The official was served a notice of suspicion of embezzlement by abuse of office by a group of persons (Part 5 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The article provides for imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property.

The issue of choosing a custody as a measure of restraint and removing the suspect from office is being decided.

The suspect's property will be seized.

Procedural supervision is carried out by the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office.
