The SBI served notification of suspicion of high treason to the People's Deputy of Ukraine of several convocations from the banned party of regions
The employees of the SBI have served notification of suspicion of high treason to the People's Deputy of Ukraine of 6 and 7 convocations from the banned party of regions.
He is also suspected of inciting ethnic hatred, combined with deception and glorification of the aggressor state.
The People's Deputy of Ukraine before the Revolution of Dignity took an active part in the attempts of then authorities to make it impossible to integrate Ukraine into the EU and instead to bring it closer to russia. Among other he organized provocative actions in order to quarrel Ukraine with Poland.
In 2014, he resigned early as the People's Deputy of Ukraine and fled to the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, where he began to serve the invaders. He got a job as an adviser to the occupation administration, and then ran in vain for the so-called "governor of Sevastopol".
Having not received the desired posts and recognition, the traitor continued to conduct subversive activities against Ukraine. The People's Deputy of Ukraine made anti-Ukrainian statements in the Crimean media, made anti-Ukrainian videos posted on the Internet for public viewing.
In his speeches after the beginning of the full-scale invasion of russian troops in Ukraine, the traitor publicly praised the aggressive war and the aggressor, humiliated the Ukrainian people and denied Ukrainian statehood.
The maximum punishment for committing these actions is life imprisonment.
It should be reminded that in November 2024, according to the materials of the SBI, the Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv sentenced People's Deputy of Ukraine to 5 years in prison for inciting police officers to abuse power with violence and to national enmity and hatred.
After the liberation of Sevastopol by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the detention of the Former People's Deputy of Ukraine, he will serve the sentence of imprisonment imposed by the court.
The State Bureau of Investigation continues systematic work on the inevitability of criminal liability for the former senior state officials who contributed to the spread of pro-russian and anti-Ukrainian narratives in society in order to exalt the aggressor state by inciting national enmity and hatred, to humiliate the national honor and dignity of Ukrainians.
Procedural guidance is provided by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
