The SBI notified the Commander of russian frigate «Admiral Makarov» who defected to the enemy in 2014 of suspicion of high treason
The State Bureau of Investigation employees notified the former captain of the 2nd rank of the military unit stationed in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and actually the commander of the russian frigate «Admiral Makarov» of suspicion of high treason.
In 2014, he betrayed his oath and remained in the military unit seized by the russian occupiers, refusing to be redeployed to the Mykolayiv region. The resident of the Vinnytsia region swore an oath to the russian Armed Forces and continued his service in the russian Black Sea Fleet.
The deserter returned to Ukraine in 2022 with the occupiers. The ship under his command launched cruise missiles at Mykolaiv and Odesa.
The SBI investigators collected enough evidence and notified the former Ukrainian military officer of suspicion of high treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to 15 years.

The SBI warns that liability is inevitable. All traitors and deserters will be brought to justice.
