The employees of the SBI have served notification of suspicion of high treason to a border guard who defected to the enemy and took part in propaganda shows of the russian federation.

At the end of December 2023, the video of propaganda channel "russia-1," which claimed that the alleged "Major-signalman", possessing "Secret information" defected to the side of the russian federation, circulated the Internet network.

The SBI in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine and the internal security of the border guards began an investigation of criminal proceedings based on this fact.

It was established, that the border guard during the annual vacation left Ukraine for Germany, allegedly to visit his wife and child. From vacation he didn`t return, instead he went to the territory of the russian federation. There the major gave an interview to the program "Vesti" (TV channel "russia-1"), calling the actions of the Ukrainian authorities to protect the country from the armed aggression of the russian rederation as terroristic.

By these actions, the traitor provided direct assistance to representatives of the russian federation in creating conditions for justifying the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine.

He was served notification of suspicion of high treason and desertion (Part 2 of Article 111, Part 4 of Article 408 and Part 4 of Article 410 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanctions of the Articles provide for life imprisonment.

Currently, measures are being taken to put the traitor on the wanted list and apply to the court with the request for conducting the special pre-trial investigation.
