The SBI served notification of suspicion to one of the officers of the 211th Pontoon-Bridge Brigade, who mocked the soldiers

The employees of the SBI have served notification of suspicion to the commander of one of the platoons of the pontoon-bridge battalion of the 211^th Pontoon-Bridge Brigade, who mocked the soldiers.

The investigation established numerous facts of the use by the senior lieutenant of non-statutory measures of influence against his subordinates.

In particular, in the last days of February 2024 in the Dnipropetrovsk region, he beat a soldier due to the fact that he was drunk. Striking a kick in the face, the officer did not calm down and ordered his subordinates to bring a drunken soldier into the room and undress him in order to humiliate him. After that the officer continued to beat the subordinate. A month later, being in Avdiivka, Donetsk region, the senior lieutenant again beat the same soldier and commanded the soldiers to raise the beaten from the ground, to put him to a wooden structure in the form of a cross and to tie his hands to it. The soldier was about four hours in this position.

Another case of beating a soldier was also recorded. This also happened in February 2024 in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The officer had a dispute with one of the subordinates because of the publication of a video on the Internet in which another soldier of this brigade told about the unacceptable living conditions.

After that, the senior lieutenant deliberately hit him in the face.

Also, in May 2024 in the Kharkiv region, he beat another of his subordinates because of dissatisfaction with the form of addressing him on a first name basis.

The investigation continues to establish other facts of violence against soldiers in the brigade.

The senior lieutenant is suspected of using violence by a military official against a subordinate committed under martial law and unauthorized abandonment of the unit (Part 5 of Article 426-1, Article 407 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The officer is currently hiding from the investigation, after his detention, investigators will ask the court to send him to custody.
