The SBI reported suspicion to the head of occupation police of village in Kupiansk district
The SBI agents in cooperation with the National Police of Kharkiv region served a notice of suspicion to a former law enforcement officer who headed the so-called police station in the village of Shevchenkove during the occupation of Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region.
After the occupation of the district by russian troops, the former law enforcer wrote an application to the head of the occupation administration, in which he asked to be appointed as a police officer.
The man signed a contract to work for the occupiers and became a district inspector, and later he headed the occupation police station in Shevchenkove. He was taking away property and vehicles from locals and also handed over local anti-terrorist operation veterans to the occupiers.
The former law enforcement officer was served in absentia a notice of suspicion of voluntarily holding a position in an illegal law enforcement agency established in the temporarily occupied territory (Part 7 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 15 years.
Procedural supervision is carried out by the Kharkiv Region Prosecutor's Office.
Earlier, the State Bureau of Investigations reported suspicion to a former law enforcer from Kupiansk, who during the temporary occupation of the city worked for the invaders and headed the investigation department in the fake law enforcement agency of the occupiers.
