The SBI reported suspicion to the ex-deputy minister, due to whom the state budget lost almost UAH 2 million during the donor’s register base creation

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, based on the Security Service of Ukraine materials, reported suspicion to the former deputy Minister of Health, due to which the state lost UAH 1.9 million.

The official signed an act of acceptance and transfer of the register software of donors of living hematopoietic stem cells called Prometheus, but it was not transferred to the Ministry by the executors.

This blocked the creation and functioning of the Unified State Information System for the transplantation of organs and other anatomical materials and its further integration into the relevant information systems of other countries.

The actions of the official caused losses to the state in the amount of almost UAH 1.9 million.

The former Deputy Minister of Health is suspected of official negligence that caused grave consequences to the state interests (Part 2 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to 5 years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
